Italy Trip: 6-16 July 2024: Explored Rome, Florence, Venice, plus Pompeii, Pisa, and Tuscany.
Germany; 24 Sep to 6 Oct 2023
Went to Germany for two weeks this fall. Its been ten years since I retired and I had an itch to revisit places I was stationed in 1992-1995, so I organized a low-impact trip using trains and local hotels. Also got to visit some central cities that I never got to while living there. Places included Cologne, Bonn, Koblenz, Heidelberg, Schwetzingen, Stuttgart and back around to Frankfurt. Just had a carry-on, so used lockers in train stations to hold my bag when I'd get into town before my rooms were ready. Amazon put together two videos automatically from photo uploads, so its an easier way to browse some pictures.
Victoria, British Colombia; 11-17 March 2023
Domenic moved to Victoria, BC for an entry electrician job, so I helped him travel out there. Was a long drive across the northwest, stopped to see Mount Rushmore and Devils Tower before arriving in Victoria four days later.
United Kingdom; 20 July to 12 August 2022
We were finally able to use our Trafalgar travel credits from 2020 and took a very long trip throughout the United Kingdom. The trip started and finished in London, while including England, Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland. While some of the sites were the same as my solo trip in 2014 and 2015, there was enough changes and all new sites such as visiting Cardiff, Wales that kept it fresh. Not to mention going with Kim, her first time visiting the UK.
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania; 25-28 April 2021
Spent a few days visiting Gettysburg National Military Park. Was a great time. Did the loop with my car the first day, then redid the sites the next day on my bicycle. Really amazing park, extremely well maintained and all historical details explained in depth.
Las Vegas, Nevada and area parks; 7-11 July 2020
Took advantage of great room rates and flights to Las Vegas and spent the week enjoying our first vacation his year! Amazon Photos did a better> photos together into a little movie than I could, so here it is. The video has an included music background so you may want to mute your speakers.
We went to Red Rock National Conservation Area, Valley of Fire State Park and The Neon Museum.
