Memories from 2020

Here's a compilation of photos from 2020.

Las Vegas, Nevada and area parks; 7-11 July 2020

Took advantage of great room rates and flights to Las Vegas and spent the week enjoying our first vacation his year! Amazon Photos did a better job putting the photos together into a little movie than I could, so here it is. The video has an included music background so you may want to mute your speakers.

We went to Red Rock National Conservation Area, Valley of Fire State Park and The Neon Museum.

Best of Finland, Russia and the Baltic States; 2-18 August 2020

Well, Covid-19 has confirmed to cancel another planned trip this year. Trafalgar is cancelling all trips through August 2020. We were expecting this, but still saddened to have it confirmed. It was going to be quite an exciting trip, new places for both of us. Our funds are good through December 2022, so plenty of time to reschedule for next summer or later if necessary. It will be interesting as tourism starts up again if antibody confirmation or full up vaccines are going to be required for travel into these countries. Russia is supposedly doing much worse than they are letting the world know, no big surprise there. However, so many European countries rely heavily on tourism as their second or third largest industry that they cannot go much longer than this summer with restrictions.

NYC 16-20 March 2020

This trip was planned and paid for prior to the covad-19 virus. The plan was for Kim, Lucietta, and myself to take the Amtrak on Monday, spend Tuesday at the Sojo Day Spa (outstanding place!), Wednesday Kim and Lucietta had two plays lined up (Dear Evan Hanson and Come from Away), while Thursday was going to be sightseeing in lower Manhattan with the train ride back on Friday.

Thought the trip was going on as planned, then late Thursday the 12th, Broadway announced they were closing because of the virus. That was the sign that this was serious, so spent that evening cancelling the train tickets and the hotel rooms. So what was supposed to be a great trip to NYC has turned into two weeks so far sitting home.
